Moisturizing is a critical step in face and body care. Everyone is so used to using cream-type lotion in order to moisturize their skin. Typically, body lotions are restricted to just that: being a lotion. If you haven't tried one yet, we definitely recommend that you give body oil a go! A body oil is great because it's not limited to being used to moisturize skin (we all love multi-purpose products!). Keep reading to find out our favorite ways to use body oil:
1. Hair Mask
If you're suffering from really dry ends, use a body oil to add some moisture to your locks! Or, if your hair is damaged from either heat or color, you can opt to lather all your strands in the body oil. To make sure the oil penetrates the hair, you can always put on a plastic shower cap and let the oil sit on your hair for about 15 minutes before you wash it out in the shower.
Is your scalp itchy or flaky? You can massage a body oil into your scalp to help alleviate the irritation as well as add some moisture (since a dry scalp might be causing the flakiness). If your body oil has coconut oil in it, that's even better since coconut oil is a natural anti-fungal!
2. Tanning Oil
Ditch the baby oil and opt for a yummy coffee scented body oil instead! Body oil is great since it can help prep your skin for some color from the sun. What's nice about our body oil is that it contains coconut oil which has SPF 5.
3. Cuticle Oil
If you love getting your nails done or you've been treating yourself to DIY manicures at home, moisturized cuticles are super important! The oil can help to increase circulation around the nails and stimulate new nail growth.
4. Prolong Perfume Fragrance
Love wearing perfume, but the scent fades quickly? Try adding a drop of body oil to your "pulse points" (neck, wrists, behind the knees) and then spraying your perfume! The oil helps to "lock in" the scent on those areas and it also protects your skin from the alcohol found in most perfumes which is very drying for the skin.
