Skincare 101: Skin Health From The Inside to The Outside (Part 2)

A few weeks ago, we discussed how skin health happens from the inside out! In that blog, we focused on how water, diet, and supplements can impact your skin's health from the inside. So, this week, we're seeing how your skin health can be influenced from things you do externally!

Skincare

First and foremost, you NEED to have a skincare routine, sis. At minimum, you should have a cleanser, toner, exfoliant of choice, as well as a moisturizer. By having a routine, you're able to help your skin combat anything that it may experience throughout the day. By finding your perfect combination of products, you can keep your skin feeling soft, prevent pre-mature aging, and looking gorgeous!

Sunscreen

SPF is an often forgotten aspect of skincare. Yes, we know that sunscreen can sometimes feel gross and smell weird... but sunscreen it HUGE when it comes to protecting your skin from harmful UV rays from the sun. One of our favorite sunscreens to use is by Ao Organics Hawaii! Not only is this sunscreen reef safe and protects you from the sun, but it has amazing ingredients that are also moisturizing to the skin. Pro tip: apply a small amount of sunscreen in the morning, before any make up, and dab lightly across the face; avoid rubbing vigorously since this can make the sunscreen look very white.

Exercise

Exercise is important for physical health, and it can also benefit your skin. Getting your heart pumping increases blood flow to various parts of your body, including the skin. This helps regulate skin cell production by eliminating dead skin cells from the body and helping new ones grow in their place!

Blood and nutrients are carried to skin cells when you exercise at a faster and more frequent rate than if you live a sedentary lifestyle. This helps the blood deliver vital resources to skin cells and eliminate waste products that make skin look dull and lifeless. About 30-60 minutes of exercise daily or at least 3-5 times a week can help your skin look stunning!
