Easy Lip Care Regimen for Soft Lips

Everyone wants soft, healthy-looking lips! One of the easiest ways to achieve that look is through proper lip care and skin care maintenance. Follow these easy tips to achieve soft, supple lips that will make you want to smile all day long!

1) Take Good Care of Your Lips

Many women don’t think about their lips as a crucial part of their skincare routine. But your lips are probably some of the most exposed skin on your body (especially in cold or sunny weather), and they can get dry and cracked from windburn or even from licking them too much. It's key to develop a regimen to protect your lips, just as you would with your skin.

2) Moisturize Every Night

Sleeping with a cream or oil-based moisturizer, like our Perk or Vanilla Body Oil, on your lips can help keep them soft and supple overnight. When you’re prepping for bed, just rub a dab a bit of oil over your lips and then put on a lip balm or use a lip sleeping mask.

3) Use A Lip Scrub

While it might be tempting to reach for a tube of lip balm and call it a day, in reality, your lips require a bit more TLC. Treat your lips to regular exfoliation with a yummy lip scrub. While they’re still damp from shaving or bathing, gently rub your lips with our Vanilla Body Polish! Be sure to wipe away any excess product and follow up by applying a lip balm that contains shea butter and vitamins A & E. Exfoliate your lips up to 3 times per week to keep scaly pieces at bay.

4) Get Used to Using Lip Balm

As you might expect, good lip care starts with a good lip balm. Lip balms create a layer of moisture on your lips to prevent them from drying out. If you use lip balm consistently throughout the day, you’ll protect your lips and avoid cracking or peeling later. The moisture also creates an environment that allows skin cells to replenish properly. You can pick up a great natural lip balm from Hawaii-makers—or make your own with coconut oil and beeswax!

5) Don’t Lick Your Lips

Saliva will dry out your lips; try to avoid licking them or constantly smacking them together. If your lips feel dry, drink some water or apply some lip balm! It’s also a good idea to skip beverages with lots of sugar in them (such as soda or lattes), which tend to be dehydrating. If you like coffee and have no plans of quitting anytime soon, there are some things you can do to make it more lip-friendly: always drink coffee through a straw instead of directly from a mug.

Lip care is one of those no-brainer skincare tasks that many of us ignore. But just like caring for your skin overall, maintaining your lips can have an enormous impact on how you look and feel! Soft, supple lips are just a few steps away.

Lip care is important all year long. Whenever I exfoliate with the Vanilla body polish, I make sure that I don’t forget to scrub my lips. I never knew that licking your lips can actually dry them out! I’m definitely going to stop doing this and carry around my Vanilla body oil roller with me so that I can keep my lips feeling hydrated all day long!

Loving all the info in this post! I just started using the Vanilla Body Oil Roller as my daily lip moisturizer. I love how it smells & I love how hydrated my lips feel after using it!
