6 Self-Care Tips For The Holidays

It's that time of year again: the holidays. Although this year might be a little different due to COVID-19, it still doesn't change the fact that most of us are still shopping for gifts, planning virtual gatherings, and feeling like we're going crazy with the plethora of tasks we need to accomplish... So, this is the perfect time to make sure YOU are prioritizing YOURSELF! Here are some self-care tips that you can easily do to make sure you don't burn yourself out for the 2020 Holidays:

1. Do What Feels Good

If something makes you feel good, then do it! If it doesn't, this is the perfect opportunity to set boundaries for yourself. Although we love our families and friends, sometimes it's better to say "No" to a request that will drain us instead of make us feel excited. If you're already busy as it is, it's okay to not want to take on more tasks/errands/projects!

If you're someone who prefers to decompress alone, be sure to schedule some time to do that. Or if you're someone who prefers the company of family/friends, schedule time with those individuals that bring you joy!

2. Exercise

This goes without saying, but exercising is SO important. Staying active and fit during the holidays can help you stay healthy, but it'll also make you feel less guilty for all the delicious foods you'll most likely be consuming! Because of the hormones that get released during exercise, physical activity is proven to improve mood, productivity, and energy, which can help you feel refreshed and ready to take on anything.

3. At-Home Spa Treatment

Treat yourself; it's easy! Take some extra time in the shower to exfoliate your face and body with a coffee scrub, take a bubble bath, and remember to moisturize. If you want to feel extra soft and smell like a sugar cookie, check out our Vanilla Body Oil!

4. Catch Some Z's

Sleep is so important. Sleeping allows your body to heal and recharge, so you can be operating at an optimal level. The less sleep you're getting, it's likely you'll feel horrible and compromise your immune system. With the crazy pandemic going on, the last thing you want to do is do yourself a disservice by skimping on sleep.

5. Vitamin D

We're talking about the one from the sun, not your mans (but hey, whatever makes you feel good). Spending some time in the sun helps your body produce vitamin D, which can help to combat depression, cancer, and overall immunity! Depending on where you are in the world, the sun can start to become scarce which can be an issue when it comes to your health. So, be sure to try and get some sunlight during mid-day or opt to take a supplement to make sure you're avoiding any unnecessary slumps.

6. Show Yourself Gratitude

Be kind to yourself this season! Remind yourself how awesome you are. Speak sweet things to yourself, and show yourself some grace if you make a mistake; we're all human.

We wish you a Happy Holiday Season! Please stay healthy and safe.
